Michael Hueitt of High Point Christian Academy picked up a great offer from Yale after participating in several events for Phenom Hoops. The 6’3 guard caught up with us after hearing about the offer and talked a little bit more about it and his interest.
“It’s a good offer,” Hueitt said shortly after the announcement. “The head coach was very happy offering me. He said to tell everyone and that he loves the player I am and can’t wait to see who I will eventually grow into in the future. As far as interest, I’m considering everyone right now, just enjoying the recruitment process.”
Yale is the only schools heating up their recruitment, as programs like Wake Forest, UNC-Greensboro, and Old Dominion, with James Madison having offered a while back.
Hueitt certainly has taken notice of the programs showing that interest, as more and more of those coaching staffs have made their way to the sideline for his games this offseason, including a few by Phenom Hoops.
“The head coaches are starting to contact me more now and most of the schools recruiting me come to all of my games and are always in contact.”
Hueitt last participated in the CP3 Live event in Winston Salem two weeks ago (where Yale assistant Anthony Goins saw him play multiple times) and it certainly has been the latest event that gave him a chance to show his talent in front of high major programs, something Phenom Hoops has been hoping to provide for several prospects.
“It has helped me get exposed to different coaches and certainly has helped me prove where I am ranked against other players,” Hueitt said when ask what Phenom Hoops has been able to do for him in his recruitment.
Still young and part of the 2017 class, Hueitt will be a name to watch this upcoming season and certainly won’t be the last time you hear about this young man.
