In what was a really exciting battle that spilled into overtime, The Low Country Bulldogs found a way to prevail over Florence International Basketball Association in the 16U Bronze Bracket at the Phenom Hoop Report JMAC Showcase. A variety of really intriguing pieces showed flashes of excellence for this Low Country group, the best of the bunch was arguably 6’4 2021 Yaturi Bolton. Bolton showed the ability to guard nearly ever position on the floor while using his athletic gifts to get the the rim at will. He embraced the championship atmosphere, playing with a high motor from start to finish, setting the tone for this group and bringing a lot of contagious energy. The backcourt duo of 6’0 2021 Malachi Williams and 6’0 2021 Kawuann Wright both did an excellent job maintaining control of the game and finding a way to persevere what was an incredible individual performance from 6’3 2022 Lebron Thomas of FIBA USA. Their ability to match up and go back at FIBA is a huge reason why they were able to come away with the victory. Coaches of all levels (D1, D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO) should all familiarize themselves with this group sooner rather than later.
