The talent ran deep at the US Open Championship, including several familiar names to Phenom Hoops. Here are a few players that were familiar faces that impressed throughout the event in Bermuda Run (NC).

2028 Ayo Awosanya (Carolina Culture)

Awosanya played well in leading his team to a championship at the US Open Championship. The young prospect out of Myers Park was able to flourish by using his size, ability to attack and create, and finish strong around the basket. He continues to find ways to produce offensively, especially with his versatility and size, along with his overall feel for the game at his age. All throughout the event, Awosanya led the charge and was effective throughout.

2028 Isaiah Whitsett (Mentality Elite)

Whitsett is coming off a strong freshman season at Grimsley and has been carrying that through the summer, especially at the US Open. The 6’3 guard finds ways to be an effective scorer on the court, making strong moves off the bounce, using his length to rise up over defenders, finishing well around the basket, and also showcasing a big threat from the perimeter.

2031 Davari Tuck (CP3 Elite)

Tuck is a player who captured our eyes earlier this summer, and he continues to show that he is going to be a name to learn/watch in the coming years. Tuck brings such a physical presence to the floor with his game, being exceptionally strong and assertive in his ability to attack downhill, create and finish through contact, and overpower his defenders. He plays with a great motor and energy, wills his way to what he wants to get, and brings a ton of overall production to the floor.

2028 Jaylon Bowden (No Rim Needed)

Bowden has had a really strong summer and has continued to open a lot of eyes with his play. Just like his brother, Bowden is a strong creator with the ball in his hands. He plays hard, competes on both ends, does a great job in using his body and getting downhill as well. Bowden is at his best off the bounce, being aggressive in getting inside the defense, attacking the basket, and scoring with touch. But also does a great job is showing awareness, ability to create for himself, and operating well in space.
