Team 7
Coach: Andy Woodard
#2: 5’3 ’28 Aji Bryant (Hickory)

Starting off, Aji Bryant is a 5-foot-3 prospect in the Class of 2028. Despite being the smallest camper on this team, she found several ways to make her presence felt. Bryant is a pesky, unselfish guard with a high motor and scrappy defensive presence. She’s a capable penetrating threat and willing passer, but is arguably at her best in the midrange. Bryant utilizes her quickness to keep opposing ball-handlers in front defensively. Next in her development process is working on the use of her off-hand, as it would make her a more reliable creator. Coach Woodard on Bryant: “Aji is a small guard with a positive attitude and willingness to accept coaching. She battled well to make an impact defensively. Needs to get stronger with the ball and work on her ability to find opportunities as a cutter.” Bryant enjoyed a solid showing at camp and should be a key piece for Hickory over the coming years.

She suffocated opposing guards, forced turnovers at a strong rate, and rebounded very well for her position. Next in her development process is working to get stronger, as it would make her even more difficult for opponents to contain. Coach Woodard on Sadler: “Jakyra was the MVP of the event. Tenacious defender who sets the tone of the game. Displayed great IQ for her team, continuously making the right decisions on the floor. Knockdown shooter from the outside, and she’s able to control the game with the ball in her hands. Extremely high ceiling. Very coachable young lady.” Sadler was the top performer in attendance, earning the MVP award, and should be one of the most productive players in North Carolina over the foreseeable future.

She gets it done in a variety of ways, making it look extremely easy. Her shiftiness and change of pace make her incredibly challenging to guard. I could see her going mid or high major if she continues to work on the right things.” Boyd was easily among the top performers on display and should remain an incredibly productive leader for Monroe over the coming years.

Borden is a knockdown shooter and lethal spot-up threat who can consistently hit shots along the perimeter. She plays hard and provides a scrappy defensive presence. Next in her development process is working on the use of her off-hand, as it would make her a better ball-handler against pressure. Coach Woodard on Borden: “Lilian is a sniper from range. Plays with decent pace. She’s able to get to her spots on the floor with the ball in her hands. Once she figures out how to use that same pace to move without the ball nonstop, I expect her game to skyrocket. She handles pressure well and has a plethora of tough finishes at the rim. Overall, Lilian was one of the best shooters in the entire camp. She shoots the ball with ease from anywhere.” Borden made her presence felt throughout camp and should be a leader for Dixon going forward.

Her effort on defense gives her the ability to come up with steals and easy layups in transition. She understands how to run the lanes in transition as well as spacing the floor in the half court to display her shot-making ability. She’s able to knife through the defense and get off her midrange pull-up that was extremely effective. I look forward to seeing her during the school season.” Risk made a lasting impression during her time at camp and should be a key piece for Gaston Christian over the coming years.

She displayed terrific effort on defense, especially getting back in transition, and showed a willingness to make hustle plays whenever possible. Next in her development process is working on getting stronger, as it would make her a better finisher through contact. Coach Woodard on Scott: “Malia finishes well at the rim through contact. Clark finishes well around the basket, both as a cutter and scorer from the block, and plays well through contact. She positions herself properly for rebounds and alters shots well as an interior defender. Next in her development process is working on the use of her off-hand, as it would make her a better finisher around the basket. Coach Woodard on Clark: “Harleigh is an extremely talented forward who understands her game. She very rarely does something outside of what she knows that works. Runs the floor well and displays her ability to dominate around the rim on the catch. Her footwork, as well as her finishing ability, catches your eye immediately. Great rebounder on both ends and she communicates well her teammates.
