The Phenom Winter Nationals is a great opportunity for our scouts to check out some of the young and rising talent around the region, and this past weekend brought just that. We look to highlight players that captured our eyes, and one young prospect was certainly the talk when watching her play.
Brentwood Fire forward Nily Rogers made a strong impression at the Phenom Winter Nationals, putting together a strong performance anchored by her presence in the paint. From the start, Rogers established herself as a force inside, consistently carving out position and making her impact felt on both ends of the floor.
Rogers showcased a soft touch around the rim and a strong understanding of how to score in traffic. Whether it was finishing through contact, capitalizing on dump-offs, or cleaning up second-chance opportunities, she found ways to be productive and efficient inside. Her footwork and patience stood out, allowing her to score with control rather than rushing attempts.
Beyond her scoring, Rogers’ rebounding ability was a major factor at the event. She attacked the glass with purpose, collecting several offensive rebounds and creating valuable extra possessions for Brentwood Fire. Her effort on the boards not only extended plays but also wore down the opposition, as she consistently outworked defenders for position.
Rogers’ physicality, activity level, and finishing touch around the basket made her one of the most impactful players on the floor. When she is playing with that level of confidence and energy in the paint, she becomes a tough matchup for any opponent.
