Player: Jaida McClure
Class: 2026
Height: 5’9
School: Providence Day
Looking at the Class of 2026, Lady Phenom has been watching 2026 Jaida McClure grow and develop over the years, as we have watched her since she was playing in seventh grade. Even as a young prospect, she grabbed the attention of our scouts and she continues to do so now in high school. McClure has added two offers to her list, with the latest being George Washington. Lady Phenom spoke with her about the latest, preparing for the season, and much more in our latest 1-on-1.
Lady Phenom: How has everything been going and your excitement about this season for you and your team'
McClure: I think we are going to shock a lot of people this year. The season so far has been great, I’m excited to lead my team and prove myself this year.
Lady Phenom: How has your game improved and how would you best describe your game'
McClure: I improved my game by developing a mid-range jumper and being more explosive. The best way to describe my game is a true pass-first point guard who can take over a game and get a bucket.
Lady Phenom: How has your recruitment been going'
McClure: My recruitment has picked up pretty heavily since this past summer. I’ve talked to multiple D1 programs.
Lady Phenom: You just got an offer from GW. Thoughts on them'
McClure: I am very grateful and appreciative of the schools that have offered me. It just gives me another reason to work even harder.
Lady Phenom: What other offers do you hold, have you been able to visit, and what other schools have been showing interest'
McClure: I have an offer from Furman. I have visited both schools and plan on visiting others. Schools like Wake Forest, UNCW, Louisville, NC State, Clemson, and others have shown interest.
What Has Been Said:
“It’s hard to believe that she is in seventh grade because she doesn’t play like it. She has a ton of confidence in her game and brings swagger to the court. First off, you see her ability to step out and knock down shots. Add on top of her ability to be a shifty ballhandler, McClure is one to really keep an eye on down the road.” – Back in 2020
“Arguably the most enticing prospect on the team, McClure possesses a nice crossroads between productivity and long-term upside. She’s already more than capable of affecting all facets of the game due to her strong frame, high IQ, and well-rounded skillset. McClure secures rebounds, forces turnovers, alters shots, and can adapt to numerous different roles on offense. She showed range/consistency on her jumper, quality decision-making, and off-the-bounce ability. McClure is already a great player and more than capable of competing (and outperforming) older opponents. She’ll certainly be one to watch going forward.” – Back in 2020
