What a day it was at the Lady NC Top 80, as not only was it a great way to showcase the talent around the state but it also kicked off what we hope to bring with Lady Phenom.  We want to continue the coverage from the event, as we talk about more players that grabbed our attention.

Gilchrist is a rising name in the Class of 2026. She is coming off a season in which she played in 22 games, averaging 10.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.7apg, and 4.3spg. And she came into the camp and displayed just that, as she quickly made her presence felt. Gilchrist quickly caught my attention with her defensive presence, but continued to elevate her play and showcase her presence all over the court. Averaging over four steals per game, you instantly saw how and why she ranked so high in that area. Gilchrist really gets after it and can defend, moving her feet, beating opponents to the spot, and creating havoc for opponents. It is what allowed her defense to turn into offense. But she also did a great job using that speed and craftiness to create off the dribble and penetrate the defense.

Only a freshman for now, she really put her stamp on the game with her presence and was an absolute difference-maker on the court. Should really earn more attention in the coming years.

What Was Said:

“2026 Jasiah Gilchrist (Pinecrest) quickly grabs my attention with her intensity, especially on the defensive end. Young guard that is quick and a pest against her opponents.”

“5’1 ’26 Jasiah Gilchrist (Pinecrest) is an absolute pest defensively. Plays incredibly hard, harasses opposing guards, and fills in the gaps offensively. Standing out as a major difference-maker despite being the smallest camper in attendance.”

“2026 5’1 Jasiah Gilchrist is a physical defender. Who can also score from all three levels.”
