It is the start of the month of June and Phenom Hoops is INCREDIBLY excited about putting on the JMAC Showcase this weekend!' High-level teams will be coming to the Fort Mill area, looking to compete and gear themselves up for a big few upcoming months.

So, lets start looking at a few teams and players to watch for this weekend. Here are a few names to look out for.

Team: Defenders Davis 17u

Thomas Hailey ' 6'6 forward ' Covenant Day School ' 2020 graduate

Thomas has all of the intangibles you like to see in a point forward role.' He is a mid major to high major player with an incredible motor and skillset.' He can defend every position and has played every position for the Defenders this season.' Offensively he moves through every position effectively, can score at every level on the floor.' He is nearly impossible to stay in front of with his quick first step and long strides to the hoop.

Deneaz Hargett ' 6'5 forward ' College of Engineering ' 2019 graduate

Deneaz is a born leader.' Coach Davis from the Defenders has referred to him as a floor general and team captain that has respect from every teammate on the roster.' Outside of his leadership ability, Deneaz has grown his game from a strictly 4/5 role, to an effective 2/3 guard that can hit his shot from every level and can defend guards and forwards alike.' The Defenders defensive schemes fit Deneaz's game perfectly as he plays man to man and traps very effectively, while anchoring the defense in the half court set.

Jacob Dahlberg ' 6'1 guard ' Covenant Day School ' 2020 graduate

Jacob is a tenacious defensive player and with incredible athleticism and vision at the 1 and 2 guard spots.' He is most effective in man to man defensive sets and leads the Defenders in steals.' Jacob gets downhill quick on his defender and will put his head down to get tough shots when his team needs him.' Offensively he is mostly used at the point guard spot, but can switch between 1 and 2 guards very effectively.

Hamidou Sidibe ' 6'4 guard ' Covenant Day School ' 2020 graduate

Hamidou is a high energy, very athletic guard that can get to his spots easily.' He can poster dunk anyone that stands in his way and can create space effectively.' He is mid to high major kid that his game will translate perfect to coaches looking for a guard that can get any shot he wants.' Defensively can defend 2/3 very well and blocks shots seemingly with ease as he has a very high leaping ability.

Austin Medlin ' 6'3 guard ' West Stanly High School ' 2021 graduate

Austin is a scoring machine on offense.' He can score at every level on the basketball court, can put his head down and get to the rack, step back and pull from mid-range and hit 3's in anyone's face.' He is most effective off the ball, but does play some point guard for the Defenders when needed.' He can guard 1 and 2 guards effectively and has a great sense for the ball.

Wonderful Ngwenah ' 6'5 forward ' Harding High School ' 2019 graduate

Wonderful is a freakishly good athlete that is a 2 sport specialist in track and in basketball.' He has incredible leaping ability and can block any shot that comes near him.' Offensively can play the 3 or the 4 and can get to the hoop with ease.' Defensively he can guard the 3 and 4 positions effectively, with the occasional 2 guard defensive assignment.
