Carolina Pressure vs Carolina Kings 13u

This was a very interesting game because while there wasn't a ton of player standouts they were 2 great teams going at it! When I say 'not a ton of player standouts' that isn't because the guys weren't playing well it just speaks to how well balanced both teams were. Both teams displayed strong guard play from Trayvon Williams who kept the Kings rolling early, and the abundance of guard that the Carolina Pressure throw at you. This game was a back and fourth 1-2 point game the whole way until Caleb Temony got it going from deep for the Carolina Pressure and hit a number of' 3 pointers in a row to give them a cushion that they wouldn't let up.'

Defenders vs QC ballers 13u

This was another game where nobody could seem to gain an advantage. Really a well constructed defensive game plan by both teams. The press was working well for both teams and you could see a sense of familiarity between the two Charlotte based programs. Trevon Williams and Jermain Wilson each lead their teams respectively and kept this game close. It was really an amazing game coaches, players, and fans all got into it as the ballers ended up winning by 1.

Team Hickory vs Carolina Ballin

This game was all about the point guard battle between Quinten Rice and Kylie Horton. Rice did a good job of getting into the paint and deciding when to finish of dish it out. Horton showed that when he wants to get downhill nobody can stop him from putting his head down and getting to the rim whenever he wants. This game was another tightly contested game that ended up in Carolina Ballin winning by 2 because they made late free throws.

Team United Elite be Rock Nation Impact

This game looked like it would be tightly contested and neither team would give an inch in the first 7/8 minutes. The thing that changed that was Christian White who just absolutely lit it up in this game. Christian finished with 29 points on 7 three pointers. Team United did a good job staying in it with a nice and balanced inside attack. However, whenever they started to comeback and get the game close the ball always seemed to find its way back to White and he would hit a big shot. Both of these teams are fun to watch and should be tracked over the next couple years.

3 ball elite vs Low County Ball dogs

This game was the one throughout the day that wasn't very close. It ended up being about a 35 point win for the Bulldogs as they came out and showed that they can just dominate you with their press defense. The Bulldogs showed that they had a lot of guys who wanted to win. They were diving on the floor, taking charges, rebounding at a high level, and doing absolutely everything it takes to win games. They were a fun team to watch who looked like they could compete with the best.

SCBA vs Carolina Defenders'

This was a game of contrasting styles for sure. Noah Hooper and Justin Morton showed to be a good backcourt duo for SCBA getting it done in different ways. Hooper maintained poise and picked his spots well, while Morton was in attack mode the entire game. For the Defenders it was all about the contrasting styles of player they have in the front court. Micah Johnson showed a ton of moves on the block and finished with an effortless double, double. While Tyreese Gwynn got his double, double by being a long athlete who could take you out to 15 feet and finish high above the rim. This was an exciting game that came down to the wire ultimately resulting in the Defenders coming out with the 17u Silver Championship.
