The Class of 2025 here in North Carolina is shaping up nicely, as prospects are coming off the board but there still is plenty of talent to go around. We look at a few prospects that we believe could be tremendous steals based on their recruitment, as college coaches should be looking hard their way.
2025 6’4 KJ Younger (Weddington)
I have said it before and will say it again… KJ Younger is a prospect that more colleges should be looking at but I’m also giving credit to schools like Queens, UNCG, and Samford who have already offered him. Time after time, I hear question marks surrounding a recruits’ game, but I also sit and wonder why we don’t point out more of what he is strong at. Younger may be the most physical prospect in the class and he simply knows how to attack, get downhill, score and finish through contact, and be assertive. He showed that last year and continues to show that today, as you simply don’t see many opponents stopping him. And at the next level with others around him, Younger could be an excellent piece with his ability to defend multiple positions, his physicality to handle the college game, and his willingness to compete on the defensive end. And we can just start the narrative there, as he will only continue to get better in other areas. But Younger is who he is and is dominant in doing just that, so embrace that. Which is why he could be a tremendous steal for a future program.
2025 6’3 Johnniyus Sharpe (Reidsville)
Now, I know Sharpe can produce and play both basketball and football but it is seriously time to start recognizing this young man for his game on the court as he could be a tremendous late snag for a program. Sharpe is a 6’3 guard who understands how to score the ball effectively; he plays hard, he competes on both sides, and he brings that football mentality to the court as well. He has a very well-rounded game that allows him to excel from multiple levels, confidently rising up to knock down shots, getting to his spots from behind the arc, or also breaking down defenders to create for himself and showcasing his athleticism. The value is there with this young man and with no offers on the table YET, Sharpe should be a target for many schools that are looking for guards that can produce.
2025 6’6 Robert Moore (Moravian Prep)
Moore, who was in South Carolina first and is now at Moravian Prep, could be a sleeper as well. This is a smart young man both on and off the court, and for the amount to coaches I hear who are looking for prospects that fit his game, he should be a priority for several programs. Moore could be an absolute steal with the offers he holds, as more should be getting involved. He is a 6’6 prospect who can step out and knock down shots from behind the arc, really opening up the defense with his range and fluid release. As our guy Chris Ewell said:
“2025 6’7 Robert Moore fits seamlessly into this talented Moravian Prep squad. He makes an impact with his defensive intensity, using his versatility to guard both the perimeter and the post. Offensively, his size and mobility make him a key player in transition, and his understanding of floor spacing allows him to fit into multiple positions. Moore’s adaptability and work ethic make him a crucial piece of the team.”
Moore is easily a prospect D1 coaches should be looking and recruiting more.
