The 4th Annual Indy Top 80 has enjoyed tremendous success in just a short period of time. From the inaugural Indy Top 80, the likes of Jaren Jackson, Kris Wilkes, Kyle Guy, Joey Brunk, and Desmond Bane all participated in the event that featured the top players in the state regardless of class. In the basketball crazy state of Indiana, there is definitely no shortage of talent and again the Indy Top 80 showcased quality talent at every level. Now, let’s take a closer look at the award winners.

Mr. Top 80: No. 69 6’8 2018 Ali Ali (East Noble HS, Kendallville, IN)

The Akron commit had little to nothing to prove, right' While it is highly unusual for a player who has already committed to play in a showcase event prior the start of the high school season. However, Ali is no ordinary player or person. More importantly, Ali attended mostly to showcase his appreciation, which is often not seen much now-a-days. Ali only averaged 16.5 PPG for the Indy Top 80, that was just a small barometer of his overall game. Ali simply did a little bit of everything well. The athletic wing played with poise, confidence, and demonstrated an outstanding attitude throughout the day. More importantly, we were impressed with his vocal leadership and maturity on and off the court.

Mr. Playmaker: No. 30 6’1 2020 Brevin Jefferson (Southport HS, Indianapolis, IN)

What a day for the Brevin Jefferson! Jefferson brought energy and enthusiasm on both ends of the court. Jefferson was one of the top guards at the Indy Top 80. We’re talking about a highly efficient scoring point guard and has the ability to score from all three levels. In addition, the game comes rather easy to him. While he can score at will, he has the ability to be a difference maker using his ability to break down defenses and generate scoring opportunities for this teammates.

Mr. Defense: No. 7 5’10 2020 Hunter Jackson (Arsenal Tech, Indianapolis, IN)

What an easy choice for the camp’s best defender. Hunter Jackson can really get after it on the defensive end of the court. He has tremendous lateral quickness, not to mention super quick hands and a high octane motor. We were impressed with his overall intensity and willingness to get after it on the defensive end of the court.

Mr. Hustle No. 47 6’4 2020 Charlie Yoder (Westview HS, Lagrange, IN)

The high octane guard simply “lit it” up at the Indy Top 80. In the first two games, Yoder scored 44 and 28 points respectively. He scored from all three levels, but it was his effort, energy and overall hustle that made the biggest impression. He seemed to be at the right place and the right time especially on the offensive end of the court. While he was the camp’s top scorer, Yoder also displayed the same amount of effort on the defensive side of the ball.

Mr. Station: No. 43 6’3 2019 Xavier Hines (Noblesville HS, Noblesville, IN)

One thing is for certain, Xavier Hines isn’t going to allow anyone outwork him. As the old saying goes, “you play the way you practice” and this one sentence simply describes the way Hines goes about his game. Hines is a highly confidence player. He can score from all three levels and has the opportunity to create his own shots off the dribble.
