Game 2 was an exciting one to watch for sure, as this brought over 10+ players that could play at the next level and had our scouts and fans excited. It didn’t disappoint, as these two teams battled early and often in this one. Victory Christian started off by running and looking to get out and run, but Legion didn’t back down and make it tough defensively while Marcus Kell came out strong. Victory Christian continued to stay aggressive, building a double-digit lead in the second but Legion kept on battling. A late run really helped create good separation though, as VCCS led 46-30 at halftime. VCCS didn’t take the foot off the pedal in the second half either, as they continued to attack and increase their lead. The depth and athleticism, along with getting out in transition, just was too much in this game. Legion fought incredibly hard all throughout and really impressed as well but ended up falling in the end, 91-51.

Standouts:
2022 Shane Blakeney (Legion): The long point guard played well in handling and penetrating with the ball but also being an offensive force with his outside shot, something that he has been known for. He showed his smooth shooting stroke on multiple occasions, knocking down multiple threes. He continues to develop his game though as a point guard and balancing his game well.
2022 Takai Simpkins (Victory Christian): Takai and Tajuan both did a tremendous job but Takai really finished well in the open floor, through contact, and at the rim. He is a gifted athlete that can simply rise over defenders and finish but also step out with his shot. But both twins continue to play at a high level. He was very assertive, got after it on defense, and ran the floor well in transition.
2021 Isaac Hawkins (Legion): The 6’10 forward played a solid game in this one. He was active around the paint on both ends of the floor, showed good footwork and feel around the rim, finishing well but also staying aggressive and getting to the line. Had to battle against multiple guys but played well today.
2021 Demar Anderson (Victory Christian): Anderson is a good guard that plays a vital role for this team. He brings that leadership on the floor and has a team mentality; he knows when to score or make plays for his teammates. Strong guard that plays hard on both ends, embraces contact, and can either step up scoring or play the role his team needs.
