Player: Chase Smith
Class: 2028
School: Queens Grant
One of the biggest bright spots when talking about the Class of 2028 has been the play of 2028 6’8 Chase Smith from Queens Grant. The big man has been an early force in the paint, showcasing his ability to score, bully, and impact the game around the basket. On several occasions, he has been a standout with the latest coming from the New Year’s Bash just a few weeks ago. We had this to say:
“When watching this young man in action, it is hard to believe that he is just a freshman. You don’t see too many young big that produce like he did this weekend, as Smith was an absolute force down in the paint while giving you a glimpse of his developing overall game. He was off the charts with anything around the basket, carving out space, being physical and going through defenders, and having an unbelievable feel and instinct on the glass for boards. And he is continuing to add more with his overall feel and game.”

And it seems that his strong play to start his high school career has been catching eyes, as schools are taking a hard look his way.
Recruitment:
It seems that schools aren’t wasting much time in making him a target. Though it is still early in his recruitment and so much could change later down the road, Smith is a big man who has the eyes of college programs as he has earned some strong early offers.
Mississippi State was the first to jump on board, as they offered back in July. Since then, Smith has only continued to flourish and show more of his game as well as his development as a freshman. He has played extremely well and has been a force down low for Queen’s Grant, as he has earned the attention of national scouts around. He then announced just this past week that two more offers came on board as Auburn and California were the latest schools to offer, announcing on social media.
Three strong offers early on and believe us, this won’t be the last you hear about this young man when it comes to recruiting and offers. It looks just to be the start for Smith, as he has a bright future ahead.
UPDATED: On Monday (January 13), Smith announce that he had received his fourth offer coming from UCF
