2026 Drew Johnson (Team Loaded South)
Johnson has been a well-known name around the state of North Carolina and he put his game on full display in Bermuda Run at the Phenom Summer Havoc. A crafty, speedy guard overall, Johnson was showcasing just how big of a threat he can be from behind the arc. He consistently got to his spots off the ball and never hesitated to let it fly from deep. He shoots the ball with a ton of confidence, but can mix it up offensively with his willingness to penetrate and create. Solid overall showing from a rising senior that will be worth looking at more this season.
2028 Bennett Smyly (Tennessee Tigers)
Smyly was a new name coming onto the scene with Phenom Hoops but he played with a familiar program that has been known to produce some strong talent over the years. The gifted guard put his game on full display at the event, time after time, proving to be a huge threat from behind the arc. That was fully demonstrated with his impressive 10 3-pointers on Day 3 in one game. Confident release, steps into his shots, and proved to be a huge weapon with his shot-making from outside.
2026 Noah VanBeurden (Riptide)
VanBeurden was a player who came into the event certainly looking to solidify himself with college coaches, and I think he did that overall. Yes, he has shown countless times how much of an impact he can be in knocking down shots but he was also displaying his ability to impact the game in other ways. He played really well and with a great motor, battling for loose balls, competing on the defensive end, making high IQ decisions for his teammates, and again being a threat from outside with his jumper from multiple levels.
2027 Grant Jacques (Rising Pros)
I have enjoyed watching Jacques this summer and believe he is going to be a sneaky prospect to watch out for in the Class of 2027. Even with him on every scouting report for opponents, he can produce in so many ways for his team. But watching him on a few occasions this weekend again, one can’t deny he has a confident, fluid, and pretty release on his shot. Moving well without the ball, Jacques finds open spots on the floor and makes opponents pay from outside as well as his jumper off the dribble. He can fill it up and do so in a hurry, as he has proven to be the clear leader for his team.
