Season in Review:
Thompson had a tremendous season at Northwestern high school as a junior. As far as the season, he averaged 16.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and shot 47 percent from the floor/ 44 percent from three. It helped him earn Player of the Year in his region and was named SC 5A All-State Player.
Coach’s Thoughts:
“AJ is a true student of the game. Has one of the highest basketball IQs of any player I’ve ever coached. Looks to create for his teammates, understands how to finish over bigger defenders because of his strength, and shoots the 3 at a high rate. But his biggest attribute is that he is a high academic and character young man who excels in the classroom. AJ is on track to be our 3rd 1000-point scorer in 3 years.”
