High School: Carlsbad HS
Height: 6’6

Season in Review:

Only getting a chance to play in 10 games this past season due to an injury at the end of his football season, Nelson still showed flashes that should grab your attention.  In those 10 games though, he averaged 15.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game.  That included a 25-point performance in his first game back, shooting 45 percent from the floor, and shooting 38 percent from three.  Now, Nelson is ready to showcase his full potential now being healthy for several months now.

Other Notes:

  • He already holds an offer from Point Loma Nazarene University
  • He is a 3-year scholar-athlete with a 4.0+ GPA

Nelson’s Game:

“I’m a shutdown defender and excel at hustling for rebounds, as well as finishing above the rim. I’m good at attacking from the wing. I’m working on bulking up my size in order to compete with older and stronger players in college as I’m likely to play against seniors as a freshman. Fortunately, I’ve played varsity football and the weight lifting regimen for that sport has helped me outperform my peers.”
