Phenom Hoops continues to highlight teams on the platform and this weekend, Generation NXT 2030 came to Bermuda Run and walked away with an impressive 4-0 record and a championship. A young team with some intriguing talent, there was a trio of players who were able to really shine on the platform in helping lead their team to a championship run. We talk about them below, but this is a team to certainly watch this summer as they continue to shine as young prospects on the rise.
2030 Carter Johnson
Johnson is a 6’1 point guard who continues to show why he’s a name to watch. A true two-way player, Johnson impacts the game on both ends with his ability to score at all three levels while also controlling the tempo and flow of the offense. He plays with a high IQ and advanced feel, consistently making the right reads and putting himself in position to succeed. Johnson opened the event with a strong 19-point performance, even throwing down a dunk, and ultimately led his team to a perfect 4-0 record and a championship. His blend of scoring ability, leadership, and poise makes him a standout prospect moving forward.
2030 AJ Knight
Knight is a 5’9 point guard that plays with a terrific feel and high basketball IQ, consistently making smart decisions and impacting the game in key moments. He showed his scoring ability in a big way, knocking down 3-pointers in a standout performance, including clutch shots down the stretch to fuel a comeback victory. Knight’s ability to stretch the floor, stay composed under pressure, and make winning plays highlights his value as a lead guard and a player you can trust with the ball in his hands.
2030 Riley Able
Able, a 6’4 small forward, put together an impressive weekend with his poise and production. He opened play with a strong 25-point performance, showcasing his ability to dominate inside while also scoring effectively from the mid-range. Able runs the floor well, brings consistent energy on both ends, and impacts the game beyond scoring with his team-first approach. His blend of size, control, and versatility makes him a key piece and a prospect trending in the right direction.
