Gabe Bryant is a fiery player, this much we know. He is a player who plays full throttle, with a non stop motor, bull in a china shop type attitude. He gets pumped up, he yells and screams and is able to flip a game’s momentum in a quick minute’s time.

At the Upward Stars Team Camp, he had numerous times where he got his team rolling with his freak athleticism. On one 3 play sequence, Bryant had a huge put back dunk, a back board rattling pin block and then a drop step dunk…His team, the fans, the coaches were all on their feet, clapping and yelling from Bryant’s high wire acrobatics.

Like many of the best in the state, the high academic Bryant is an alum of the South Carolina Top 80. After his performance against the state’s best in the prestigious event we wrote, “Bryant has a good frame and is incredibly bouncy. He goes after every rebound and plays the game with a bullish tenacity. Bryant’s camp coach Blake Hall stated, “Gabe had a great attitude in camp. He rebounded and defended with intensity.”

He is 6’9”, he weighs around 245 pounds, he has great length, he has unnatural explosion, he has a non-stop motor and he is a high academic kid to boot. With all of these truths to his game it is no wonder why his recruitment is all over the board. He currently holds 8 offers, from Appalachian State, Mercer, Tennessee Tech, USC Upstate, Presbyterian, North Florida, South Alabama and Georgia Southern. He has the likes of Kansas State, Charlotte, William and Mary and Florida Gulf Coast in constant contact with him.

The game is rapidly showing down for Bryant. Along with his freak athleticism and non stop motor, he has a developing face up game. Bryant says he watches a lot of Blake Griffin, “I am watching how Blake went from being a jumper and dunker to expand his game. He can face up and he can shoot it. I’ve developed my touch.”

July could become very interesting. For Bryant. It will all depend on who sees him when. He is the type of player who could end up at any level between mid major, high major or high level Ivy League. He continues to get better by the day, watch closely in July!
