1of1 Academy is looking strong early on
1of1 Academy came in as a very talented program that had a chance to make a lot of noise this upcoming season. They showed that during the HoopState Fall League, and they backed it up at the George Lynch Invitational. 1of1 has talent inside and out, led by its guards in 2026 LJ Rush who put on a show with 21 points while 2026 Jeremiah Jackson and 2025 Jack Sorrell got things rolling. But what makes this team so dangerous is how they can win, whether it is using their speed and shot-making outside or using their size down low with 2025 Gevonte Ware, 2027 Isaiah Williams, and others.
2025 Kaden Hammond steps up big for TBS vs. Providence Day
A player that has stepped up and elevated their play in the last two weeks has to have been 2025 6’8 Kaden Hammond from TBS. We wrote about him last week after his showing at the Phenom Tip-Off, and he only surpassed that on Day 1 against Providence Day and would later on against Chambers. Hammond has been a strong offensive weapon that is effective, competes, and finds ways to impact the game with his touch, feel, and rebounding capability. He has been huge the last few weeks for TBS, and college coaches should take notice.
WS Christian brings a balanced attack vs. Davidson Day
We were eager to see how Winston-Salem Christian would bounce back after we last saw him at the Carmel Tip-Off, as they were able to do so against a tough team in Davidson Day. Taking down DD 76-68 on Friday night, WS Christian was able to show just how balanced they can be. They have size in many areas but also offensive weapons that allow the ball to move and options offensively. 2026 Bradley Floyd filled up the stat sheet, while it was 2025 Adriel Nyorha, 2026 Tyson Thompson down low, and 2025 Alex Pissis that impressively led the charge.
Christ School is proving to be the top team in the state
There may not be a team that has made a bigger statement than Christ School early in the season, as they are making a clear statement in possibly being the top team in the state. They have players that understand their role, they buy-in to what the gameplan is, and they have legit talent ni so many areas of the court. 2025 Zymicah Wilkins continues to flourish down low, while 2025 Madden Collins, 2026 Tyler Jones, 2026 Dacen Petty, and others have been off the charts offensively. But what has really impressed with this team is what they have been bringing on the defensive end. They had an impressive win vs. Combine on Friday, and would later back that up against Caldwell Academy on Saturday.
