Though it hasn’t been the season the Falcons of Southern Guilford wanted, that doesn’t mean that this is a program that doesn’t have pieces that they could build around for the future. Watching the Falcons in action recently, Southern Guilford has two freshmen who bring strong value to the court and should be building blocks for this program down the road as they continue to develop. 2029 Elijah Fapojuwo and 2029 Tylen Goode are two names you need to watch more this summer and learn about, as they look to lead this program in the coming years.
2029 Elijah Fapojuwo
Only a freshman, Fapojuwo has been leading the charge offensively for his team all season long. Through 24 games, the freshman guard is averaging 17.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 2.8 assists per game, and when you watch him in action, one can see he is a clear alpha for this team. I really like his ability to play on and off the ball, hunting for his shots while also using his strong frame to his advantage. He attacks well with a change of pace and getting downhill to finish strong, but has confidence in his ability to knock down shots from multiple levels as well.
2029 Tylen Goode
Watching some games of his as of late, Goode brought intrigue with his overall versatility. Standing around 6’3 and with his long frame, he can bring value in several areas of the floor. His length right now is his biggest weapon, as he is able to play multiple positions, bring good activity defensively, help on the glass, and score as well as facilitate. Certainly, there are areas for improvement as a young prospect, but Goode is one who brings good overall value and should continue to be an asset for his team down the road.
Remember, this isn’t the first duo to shine for the program:
