Travel Ball Coach Evaluation:
Jacob was my point guard for my 8th grade summer AAU team, Team Loaded 757. He has an excellent basketball IQ. He has an outstanding shot from outside the arch. Jacob is a great leader and team player. He strives to make everyone better on the floor and is always positive and encouraging. This young man has shown great growth in handling the defensive pressure. He is a competitor on the defensive end as well. Jacob is definitely a player I look forward to watching as he grows and develops. He has unlimited potential of where this game can take him. – Coach Andre Allen, Head Coach Team Loaded 757 8th grade, Head Coach Oscar Smith HS Junior Varsity

High School Coach Evaluation:
Jacob has worked very hard on his craft and he’s only going to get better. No one critiques his game more than Jacob. He has been watching game film since he was 6 years old. He is also just a great kid, liked and respected by his teammates. His goals are to play college basketball. He has never shied away from gym time. He really is a gym rat and enjoys the process and work necessary to excel on and off the court!

Coach Frank says:
Jacob comes off an impressive summer and fall having amassed a lot of playing time on a veteran team entering the season with high expectations. He quickly gained the trust and respect of teammates because he is a high IQ guard who takes care of the basketball and gets the ball to his scorers, he doesn’t turn it over and he is a tough, high energy defender. He also happens to be the son of a high school coach! Jacob demonstrated his impact in his first varsity game for Green Run in the Boo Williams Fall League when he had 8 points, 6 assists and four steals. He has proven since that impressive debut the ability to contribute consistently at the varsity level. Jacob not only brings a court awareness beyond his freshman years and skillful guard play but he has great poise and confidence. He really handles the ball well, has great vision and is an excellent passer. Jacob can break down his defender and get into the lane and score, can knock down the jumper and also can hit the three pointer. He had several multiple three point basket games over the summer for Team Loaded AAU. An athletic and quick footed guard, Jacob defends his position and is an active and harassing defender. Jacob has a solid grasp of the fundamentals and also a skillful approach to the game rarely seen in a player so young. His upside is exciting and he will establish himself among the areas better guards as his high school career progresses. It’s obvious watching him play that he has command of the responsibilities of his position and the skill and athleticism to execute at a high level on a program with championship hopes.
