The fifth game for day four of Phenom’s Holiday Classic took place between two quality programs in Franklin Prep Regional and Bull City Prep Durham. Things opened up and Bull City Prep quickly took control of the tempo. They jumped out to a massive lead through unselfish play and excellent offensive balance, allowing them to claim a 48-16 advantage going into halftime. Despite continued fight from Franklin Prep Regional, Bull City Prep was simply too much to handle en route to a 101-48 victory in this contest.
Bull City Prep Durham:
6’2 ’24 Branden Thomas
Though young, it’s easy to see the long-term appeal with Thomas. He already does a phenomenal job of getting downhill and attacking the basket, both in the half-court and in transition, and finishes well around the basket. Thomas is capable of cutting and knocking down shots from beyond the arc, but also plays well within the team concept. He’s a quality defender and rebounder for his position.
6’2 ’22 Keyshawn Leach
After having an extremely productive summer season, Leach has quietly gone about his business and continued being a reliable piece for Bull City Prep. He’s a smart, polished scorer with toughness and athleticism—both vertically and laterally. Leach understands how to create for others or operate without the ball in his hands. Though somewhat underrated, he should have opportunities to play at the next level.
