As a redshirt freshman this past season at Gardner-Webb, Bryant was able to see action in 16 games and averaged four minutes per game.  He then announced that he would be entering his name in the transfer portal back in March, with three years to play.

It seems that the relationship Bryant had with the coaches at Lees McRae back in high school really helped seal the deal for him, as he announced on Wednesday that he would be committing to the program.

“I’ve known Coach Hardin there since my sophomore year in high school. Lees McRae was my very first offer in high school and they have always kept up with me, so I felt like I had the best relationship with them,” Bryant told Phenom Hoops. “I fit in pretty well with their style of play which is very fast-paced and which is how I prefer to play. I also feel like Coach Hardin knows my game very well and will know exactly how to use me on both offense and defense.”

If you didn’t’ get a chance to watch Bryant in high school and during the summer, he brings a unique and very intriguing motor along with hard work down low in the post.  Bryant comes to battle with his game and is one that looks to tear the rim down every play.  He hopes to bring that and a lot more of his game to the program in the coming years.

“I feel like with my height and weight, I’ll be able to move other bigs out with ease and also contest anything that is coming inside,” he replied. “I can score inside and knockdown mid-range shots, as well as find gaps in the post for easy lay-ins and dunks. I also think I can help get a lot of second-chance points via offensive rebounds.”

With his commitment, Lees McRae continues to improve their roster and has done an excellent job on the recruiting trail this past season. Bryant will for sure be a big that can make his mark on the program in the coming years.
