From prospects picking up early high-major attention to others making impressions on campuses across the country, the buzz around the gym was undeniable. As programs look to lock in their future stars, several players made waves with recruiting updates, giving fans and coaches alike plenty to talk about.
2027 LJ Smith Attends Ohio State Game vs. Texas
Time to really look at 2027 LJ Smith and Ohio State, as the premier scoring guard from North Carolina and now at Oak Hill, made a return trip back to Columbus this past weekend. Smith is regarded as one of the top scoring guards in the country for 2027, and Ohio State has been making the North Carolina a hot target as of late. Smith took a visit back in August to Ohio State, in which he stated that he loved what he saw and the coaches.
Now, he was able to check in back at Ohio State as the Buckeyes took down Texas in a Top 3 showdown to kick off college football. Does this look to be a relationship continuing to build between them?
2026 Will Stevens checks out Clemson over the weekend
One of the top prospects in the Class of 2026 for North Carolina, 2026 6’10 Will Stevens is starting the visit process with an official visit this past weekend to Clemson. The Tigers, who did make his Top 5 list, is the first visit for the big man.
In speaking with Stevens not long ago, he will now have a visit to Vanderbilt in September and one to South Carolina in October, with others being scheduled down the road.
2026 Trey Beamer makes an official visit to Boston College
It was a busy weekend for several faces around the country, and 4-star guard Trey Beamer was one that took a visit over the weekend to one of his Top 5 schools. Beamer, who announced that Mississippi State, USF, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Boston College all made his list, went up north to check out Boston College for an official visit. It was his first visit, with Maryland and Mississippi State coming up as well.
Beamer received an offer from Boston College back in July.
2026 Cole Cloer makes an official visit with a familiar face at NC State
Once regarded as the top prospect in North Carolina before heading down to IMG Academy, Cloer has been a hot target for many and certainly has made waves with his latest recruiting news. We have spoke a lot about Cloer and his visits, as he recently came back to North Carolina for a visit to NC State.
The Wolfpack program has been making a ton of waves under Will Wade and company, and Cloer is one to keep an eye on throughout the process. A familiar face around North Carolina, NC State and Cloer are an interesting tandem to watch. As we stated before, in speaking with Cloer a while back ago, he mentioned that he grew up an NC State fan and with everything starting to build, could this relationship be getting stronger?
