Player: Andrew Dos Santos
Class: 2029
School: Gaston Christian

The Hoop State Fall League is underway, giving our scouts plenty of topics and players to discuss over the next few weeks before the season ahead. We are just months away from the start of the season, but the Fall League gives us a nice preview of what to watch this upcoming season, as we dive into several storylines.

Gaston Christian will be an interesting team to watch as several familiar faces will be leading the charge but there was a new name that popped up that should be on the watch list for many from what we saw. When you talk about this year’s team, players like 2027 Jaishawn Woods and 2027 Jeremy Duhon look to be the guys many will be looking at early on. But the player that introduced himself in a big way to North Carolina was 2029 6’2 Andrew Dos Santos, a new prospect for the program. Santos was excellent with his overall play, flourishing as a shotmaker with range but also one that can be effective from several other levels. He was incredible with his ability to play off the ball and find the open spots from outside, demonstrating a confident and fluid release from behind the arc. He hit 11 3-pointers in just two games, and they looked pretty coming off his hand; he shot the ball with tremendous confidence. But when the defense started to realize his ability to knock down shots, Santos was able to find other ways to attack with good athleticism and size. Santos thrived playing off the ball and opening up the offense, bringing strong value as a secondary option with a lot of potential. Though he is a new name here in North Carolina and for the Class of 2029, he certainly made our scouts aware of his game as Santos put himself on our watch list for this upcoming season.
