The Phenom Queen City Showcase event once again brought together a strong mix of talent across multiple classes, with players stepping up and making their presence felt in a variety of ways. From high-IQ guards controlling the tempo to athletic forwards impacting both ends, several prospects showed why they are names to track moving forward.

2027 6’0 Justin Vining (Carolina Pressure)

Vining stood out with his poise and understanding of the game. A high-IQ guard, he consistently got to his spots and made the right reads. He shot the ball well off the catch, created opportunities for teammates, and showed craftiness off the bounce. His smooth, controlled approach allowed him to be effective without forcing the action.

2026 Tahziir Webber (Tru Elite)

Webber brought speed and shiftiness to the floor, creating problems for defenders throughout. He consistently got where he wanted off the dribble and thrived in transition. His ability to finish through contact, combined with his athleticism, made him a tough cover in open space and in half-court situations.

2028 6’8 Jamel McKinley (Team Unleashed EYCL)

McKinley used his size and athleticism to impact the game in multiple ways. He was active on the glass, tracked down rebounds, and altered shots around the rim defensively. Offensively, he showed improvement as the game progressed, finishing plays effectively and capitalizing on his opportunities, especially in the second half.

2027 6’4 Braylon Curry (HYAA)

Curry’s length and athleticism immediately stood out. The versatile wing attacked the rim with purpose and showed the ability to get what he wanted inside. Defensively, he embraced the challenge of guarding multiple positions, using his wingspan and mobility to disrupt opponents. A high-upside prospect with tools that translate.

2028 Kamari Kilgore (Sewer South)

Kilgore showcased his ability to create and score at a high level. He consistently generated his own offense, using his smooth handle and ability to stop on a dime to create separation. Whether pulling up or shooting over defenders, he was comfortable in his scoring ability. On the defensive end, he played with physicality and purpose, disrupting opposing offenses and making an impact beyond scoring.
