Prepare for Naquan Williams-Day to explode with college offers this April. This will be an event that we saw coming a while ago, but it will finally culminate this April.

Williams-Day took the 2015 Phenom July LIVE period by storm. Playing in two events, the sturdy wing averaged 30 points per game, going for over 45 multiple times. It was quite a revelation because none of us at Phenom had heard of Williams-Day prior to July.

After his showing during the first July LIVE Period, Phenom Champions Showcase, we wrote, What a week for the young man. I am surprised why this name is a new one, but glad that he broke out with us. When the talks of a prolific scorer comes about, Williams-Day has to be close to the top of the list. His game is similar to that of Texas signee Tevin Mack. Williams-Day went for games of 30, 34, and 46 points this weekend. He has great touch to well beyond the arc and the ability to handle and get to the rim. Watch for Williams-Day moving forward in July, his breakout could explode.”

Coming into his 2015 summer season, Williams Day played a nice role on the Maryland 2A State Championship winning Oakland Mills basketball team. He was the fourth leading scorer on that team, as a sophomore averaging just less than 10 points per game. Then the summer of 2015 hit and the starring role was his.

Boy did Williams-Day take advantage of the spotlight! After averaging 30+ points per game for the month of July, he came into his Junior season ready to take on all comers. The defending Maryland 2A state champions lost two starters and needed a boost. Williams-Day was ready.

Throughout his junior season, the explosive sharp-shooting wing averaged 19 points, 6 boards, 2.5 assists, and 3 steals per game. Williams-Day shot 52% from the inside the arc and in 154 attempts he shot 35% from beyond the arc. Williams-Day plays with a great pace and confidence. No matter the stage, he doesn’t get rattled.

Standing a lengthy 6’6”, Williams-Day was able to handle in the half court. But despite his ability to pad stats across the board, his calling card is his ability to score the ball. As we mentioned before, he is lengthy, but also very athletic. He has confidence at all 3 levels and the range and quick trigger that extends well beyond the 3 point arc.

College Coaches, make sure to get a seat front and center for Williams-Day during April as he starts to collect offers. It will all start April 16-17 at Spring Hoops Fest in Greensboro, NC
