Phenom Hoops was back in action at the Phenom Grassroots TOC, where talent was on full display from start to finish. With teams and players bringing high-level competition across every division, the depth of talent truly stood out. As always, our staff was on hand to evaluate and identify some of the premier prospects that made their mark, and we now take a closer look at a few of the standout performers who caught our attention throughout the weekend.
2028 Donnie Jones
Jones was quite impressive throughout the event down in Rock Hill, as he brought excitement, scoring, and was a true factor in every game he was in. As a smaller guard, Jones was off the charts in his ability to be an offensive force on the court. Time after time, he showcased speed, creativity, and shiftiness in his ability to create off the dribble, keeping defenders guessing and consistently driving past them. However, he could hurt you in a variety of ways, whether it was his driving or being a confident shooter from outside, something he was able to show in every game. Jones was a true playmaking guard who played with pace and feel, while being a difference-maker as a scorer.
2028 Ayo Awosanya
Awosanya has been a strong and consistent standout every time we have watched him, whether it was with Myers Park or this past weekend with Elite 1. He understands his role and impact on the court, as his energy and motor allow him to thrive against opponents. Awosanya outworks many and just finds ways to get to the ball quicker, whether it is attacking the glass, being physical in the paint, scoring from a variety of levels, or defending multiple positions. His energy immediately stands out, and he uses that to his advantage in nearly everything he does on the court.
