Phenom Opening Session 1

Proehlific Park, Court 3; Morning

Standouts

This morning at Proehlific Park was filled early with players ready to play, and spectators ready to see what they could do. On this cloudy April spring day, players looked to shine in spite of that. Great games were filled with promising talent looking to make their marks.

5’11 2021 Jacobi Wright Team CP3 – Has a very nice skill set. He can shoot, get to the basket, pass, and play in between with the midrange game. He makes really good decisions as well, whether he is bringing the ball up the court, off the ball, knowing when to shoot, and the right time to pass; showing a formidable basketball IQ.

6’4 2021 Chris Ford Team CP3 – There is a saying: “he’s got a nose for the ball”. That’s Chris Ford. Wherever the ball is, that is where he is. If there is action, he’s right there in the middle of it. He get’s most of his work done with his in between game. He plays with energy, pace, and a great understanding of the game. Physical and strong as well. He is a basketball player!

6’3 2019 Mysta Goodloe Team Winston 17 – Shifty guard. Hard to guard because he keeps the defender off balance. Calm and collective during the game. Can score and get the ball to his teammates in good position to score as well. Has long arms which allows him to deflect the ball often by getting his hands in the passing lane, and score over defenders when he gets to the basket.

6’0 ‘2019 Tristian Davis Carolina Wolves (NC) 17U – He can score. Period. It is hard to stop him from getting to the basket, and if he is stopped, more than likely he’s getting fouled. Can step out and hit the 3 also.

6’2 2021 Taron Troutman Greensboro Warriors – This young man is intense on offense and defense. Plays hard the whole time. Has a good handle, can get to the basket, pull up from midrange, and is still unselfish enough to look for his teammates in scoring position and get the ball to them. Quick first step.

5’11 ‘2021 Noah Caulder Team Loaded 704 (15U) – Efficient is the word to use for this guy. Energy, but no waisted energy. meticulous in how he went about his business today. Getting to the right spots on the court, didn’t turn the ball over, and being an overall leader on the court. Though he is young, he plays like a much older player. Very crafty.
