In a contest that lived up to the billing the Durham Hurricanes 2021 group claimed a hard-earned 71-63 win over talented and equally tough Fayetteville Flash squad.

Greensboro, North Carolina- This was a matchup dominated by explosive guard play and it came down to the wire, it was a game of runs each side continuously went blow for blow. In the second half after surviving multiple runs, the Hurricanes were able to step up and take control of this one. This was a game both teams wanted with championship implications on the line in the brutal Tarheel bracket.

MVP's

5'11 2021 Tre Brown (Hurricanes)

TRE DH

Brown was a serious problem on both ends of the floor, offensively he maintained an aggressive approach getting to the basket throughout the contest.

It seemed like whenever the Hurricanes needed a big bucket it was Brown coming through in the clutch for his side. Brown is a strong slasher he comes through the lane full force and he's a creative finisher. Defensively Brown was disruptive forcing turnovers and jumping passing lanes.

'Tre set the tone for us defensively first.' Said Coach Sinclair (Durham Hurricanes)

5'9 2021 Darius Jewell (Fayetteville Flash)

Jewell was easily one of the top point guards on display, his feel for the game is advanced and his range is in the gym. On one three-ball Jewell sized his man up and pulled up from the logo near half court and buried the shot.

The kid is extremely confident in his ability and that's a shot Jewell regularly practices. Jewell posses a nice handle and he's got good court vision, his passing ability is impressive in these stages, he shows some flash but it's controlled and precise.
