Marquette made some recruiting news on Wednesday, as they were able to earn a commitment from 2024 6’7 Damarius Owens from Western Reserve Academy. It is the first commitment for the program in the Class of 2024, and Phenom Hoops spoke to Owens about why Marquette was the place for him in the end.
“Marquette was the place for me because of the people and the resources that the university consists of. I met many great people and they showed me that they have everything I need to take my game to the next level. On top of that, there’s a great Head coach/coaching staff that believes in me and is ready to help me become a better person and player as a whole!”
He picked Marquette over Virginia Tech and Syracuse, as he announced not long ago that he had cut his list down to those three.
Player’s Game:
“I feel that I have a really quick first step and I like to get downhill, In a word I’d say explosive. I try to model my game after Paul George; he’s tough and his handle is insane!”
