The NC Top 80 once again lived up to its reputation as one of the premier events in the state, bringing together an elite collection of talent from all across North Carolina. At the event, players stepped onto the floor ready to prove themselves—and many did just that in dominant fashion. From established stars solidifying their status to emerging prospects making their case among the best, the competition level was nothing short of outstanding. The energy, intensity, and skill on display throughout the event showed exactly why North Carolina continues to be a breeding ground for next-level basketball talent.

We start with Mr. Top 80 himself, 2026 Dionte Neal, who continues once again why he is one of the premier guards not only in the region but in the country. The UNCG commit came out and showed everything he had, proving his talent on the national stage.

What makes Neal such a prospect is his overall impact on the court. No matter where you look, you can see him making his presence felt all over, whether it is on offense or defense.  Neal is a true leader on the floor, as he simply understands what is needed from him, what he needs to provide to others, and understands the game the right way.  Offensively, he plays the game the right way in being a true playmaker for himself and others, facilitating when needed, making smart decisions, taking what the defense gives him, and being a multi-level scorer off the bounce or from outside He provides everything you would want in a point guard. Defensively, he brings that same energy and intensity to the floor, creating havoc on the ball, being active in the passing lanes, talking on defense, and showcasing his speed/footwork as well.

Neal has had a storied career and it isn’t over yet… he can now add a Top 80 award to his long resume, as he looks to carry that momentum into the season and on his way to UNCG in the coming years.
