Day 1 was filled weith storylines in Spartanburg from the Summer Havoc

Kyler Edwards Lives up to His Hype
Edwards came into this event carrying over 25 offers, most recently coming from Texas Tech and Georgetown. With the likes of St John’s, Butler, SMU and Georgia Tech in the stands Edwards did not disappoint on Day 1. The lefty has a great feel. His father played football at Liberty so he comes by his athleticism honestly. He finished the game with 29 points to go along with a handful of assists. In fact, his vision may have been what stood out most about him today.

Make no mistake about it, Kyler Edwards is a high major guard.

1 Family and Game Elite 2019 Programs Are Must Watch for College Coaches
1 Family is led by known names Zimife Nwokeji (Top 100) and Dionte Ware (Top 150). Watch for lengthy guard Isaiah Turner to very soon follow suit as a Top 100 type prospect. While these are the three national rankings type guys, they have six or so others who will garner Division 1 offers.

While Game Elite 2019 still has some good prospects, they do not come into the event with the same accolades of 1 Family’s. However, soon enough the High Major offers will start to come for 6’1” 2019 point guard Brenden Tucker. Look for 6’9” true low post Rodney Howard to be in the same boat as Tucker with mid to high offers coming soon.

Like 1 Family, Game Elite has 5 or so other prospects who will garner Division 1 offers before they graduate.

Coaches Spotted
Over 50 coaches were spotted on night one, which is a good number considering there were only 3 game sets being played. Coaches from Butler, St John’s, Georgia Tech, SMU, Miami, UNC Wilmington, Texas San Antonio, Longwood, Radford each showed up along with Head Coaches from Central Florida, Liberty, Western Carolina and a host of Division 2 schools. Both gyms had baselines filled with coaches for all 3 game sets and that is what it is all about.

Isaiah Turner Earns an ACC Offer
Probably the best prospect we saw today was the lengthy 6’7” Isaiah Turner from the 1 Family program. Obviously, Georgia Tech felt the same way as they extended an offer to Turner. Turner is a lengthy prospect who plays point guard for this team. He played very aggressively in this one, spending a lot of time in the paint. Watch closely here, if he continues to progress at this rate he could end up a highest level type recruit.
