With talent on display throughout the event, we now take a closer look at several players who impressed and grabbed our attention.
One guard who quickly earned my attention at the event was 2029 6’3 Remy “RJ” Rose from Carl Hayden High School in Arizona. Rose impressed with his poise, control, and advanced feel for the game. He plays with excellent pace and confidence when handling the ball, utilizing his crafty handle and high basketball IQ to read defenses and consistently make quality decisions. Rose is a capable playmaker who creates opportunities for others, but he can also generate offense for himself. He knocked down shots with a smooth, confident release from multiple levels while also displaying the ability to attack defenders off the bounce.
Rose proved he could impact the game within the flow of the offense while also stepping up and creating plays when needed. After averaging 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.7 steals per game during a strong freshman season, he appears ready to take another significant step forward. With an increased role expected for the Falcons, Rose will be an intriguing young guard to monitor throughout the upcoming season and beyond.
