The CP3 Rising Stars Camp brought some of the nation’s top young prospects to Bermuda Run, North Carolina, for an exciting weekend of competition and evaluation. Phenom Hoops had an excellent opportunity to watch several familiar standouts while also learning about new names who quickly made their presence felt. With talent on display throughout the event, we now take a closer look at several players who impressed and grabbed our attention.
Another lengthy forward who earned our attention and is eager to watch develop was 2029 6’9 Trenton Graves from Gillion Academy. The big man flashed his game and showed strong overall upside as he continues to add more and get stronger. Though Graves is raw in areas, what stood out was his length and size, his fluidity in running the floor, and his active presence in the paint on both sides. He displayed touch and a solid overall feel around the basket, finishing at the rim or with a soft touch in the paint, as well as being able to help control the paint on the defensive end. You can see the potential if it all comes together, as this could just be the start of his story. Time will only tell with this young big man from Gillion Academy, but watching him on the court, he is certainly a name to jot down and monitor in the state of Virginia.
