The CP3 Rising Stars Camp brought some of the nation’s top young prospects to Bermuda Run, North Carolina, for an exciting weekend of competition and evaluation. Phenom Hoops had an excellent opportunity to watch several familiar standouts while also learning about new names who quickly made their presence felt. With talent on display throughout the event, we now take a closer look at several players who impressed and grabbed our attention.
Next up, we wanted to highlight the play of 2029 6’4 Zion Siler from The First Academy down in Florida. Siler was one that quickly grabbed my attention, as the dual-sport athlete plays one way and brings maximum energy to the court. Learning more about Siler, he not only excels on the court but is also a football prospect to watch. And one can tell he brings that physical intensity to the basketball court.
When talking about his game, the first two words that come to mind are strong and physical. Over and over, he made his mark in attacking, embracing contact, getting to his spots and where he wanted, and constantly attacking off the bounce. He displayed good handles in being able to create for himself and found ways to get paint touches on several occasions, finishing well and strong or at the rim. It is where Siler excelled the most, as many defenders could slow him down when he was attacking off the bounce. But what also excited us about his game was his ability to bring that same intensity on the defensive end, looking to make plays, making the extra efforts on loose balls, and constantly being an active defender.
With the motor and energy he brings to the table, as well as his ability to excel downhill, create for himself, find ways to knock down shots, and impact the game in a variety of ways, I believe Siler could be a sneaky prospect to watch out for, and college coaches should have him on their radar.
