The CP3 Rising Stars Camp brought some of the nation’s top young prospects to Bermuda Run, North Carolina, for an exciting weekend of competition and evaluation. Phenom Hoops had an excellent opportunity to watch several familiar standouts while also learning about new names who quickly made their presence felt. With talent on display throughout the event, we now take a closer look at several players who impressed and grabbed our attention.

One of the biggest names at the event and one we didn’t need much time to see the potential in was 2029 6’10 Alex Alexander from Gillion Academy. Ranked as a premier prospect nationally from multiple outlets, Phenom Hoops wanted to check out this young and talented prospect. It didn’t take long to see what everyone was talking about with him, especially with his physicality, size, and overall skill set as a prospect. When you talk about his game, he has all the tools that will have college coaches (who haven’t already offered) salivating.  With his size, he was excellent in being a physical presence at the rim, getting to his spots down in the post, bullying through opponents, finishing with touch as well as with power at the rim, and understanding how to operate in traffic down in the paint. But he then can hurt you just as much from outside, bringing versatility with his scoring inside and out.  Alexander’s overall will and power to battle through defenders and attack was impressive, not to mention his impact on the defensive side of the ball as well. Again, he has all the tools that make him one of the top prospects in the class, and it was easy to see.

Alexander sits on top of many of the rankings in the state of Virginia, and he already holds offers from LSU, UTEP, Ole Miss, TCU, Missouri, Mississippi State, Sam Houston, San Jose, Sacramento State, Pepperdine, and others. But it was clear that this is just the start, as even bigger schools will be coming into town to check out the talents of Alexander.
