Cannon, under head coach Jim Baker, will be an interesting team to keep an eye on this upcoming season. When you look at this roster, you don’t see too many seniors on the roster and a lot of young prospects that have a chance to shine in a big way.
There are a few names that you know about from last year, but this is a roster that looks to really focus on the young prospects, helping lead the way. 2028 DJ Rogers will be a player of focus this season, especially with his toughness and ability to score, getting downhill as well as knocking down shots. However, there will be others who look to stand out and stamp their name as players to seriously watch. 2027 Lochlann Brezeault will be one of the lone seniors as well who will be counted on in a big way.
2030 Braylen Weaks will be a player to really keep an eye on, even as a freshman. He was able to garner valuable experience last year and has a chance to step up and lead early on for this team. Weaks is an excellent shot-maker with range, showcasing confidence and fluidity from behind the arc, but also continues to add more with his overall game to become a well-rounded guard.

Then you look at 2029 Amari Winters, a 6’1 guard who has been catching some attention this June with his play. He is a lead guard who is able to help run the offense, create and facilitate, score off the bounce, and find ways to impact the game in other ways. He will be another key young prospect who has a chance to carve out a primary role and be a playmaking guard with the ball in his hands.
These two are players who have made an early statement this June, but when you dive into the roster as a whole, there are plenty of others in the Class of 2029 that could be key contributors this upcoming season for Cannon.
