Getting a chance to watch teams early before the season brings a lot of value, as you can find teams that may be sneaky ones to watch. Those teams that you may not know much about, or ones that have questions, can certainly provide answers and bring surprise teams to watch down the line.
The Huskies had a strong season last year, finishing 20-7 overall and being a presence in conference play. But coming into the team camp, we didn’t know too much about this year’s team, but this is a group that brings balance, unselfishness, and teamwork to the court. Hough will be led by some key seniors in 2027 Tre Ratliff, 2027 Nolan Lydeka, and others who will be key to the team’s success, as they were key throughout the weekend. Getting a chance to watch them on the court, this team looks like one that plays with an unselfish nature, a good mixture of shot-making and creating, and really shares the ball well, as they had players from all over step up to help lead.
We highlight what was said about a few of them, as the Huskies quietly could be a team to watch this upcoming season.
“2027 6’3 Tre Ratliff (Hough) is a player I would look out for this season. Has gone under the Radar but brings tremendous production and should be the leader at Hough. Can score off the bounce, knock down shots, and be a strong creator.”
“6’3 2027 Tre Ratliff (Hough) has made a name for himself. Long, athletic wing. Versatile on both ends of the floor. Finishes through contact at the rim. Comfortable in rhythm from the perimeter.”
“2027 Nolan Lydeka and 2027 Grayson Shapard (Hough) were two other seniors who were able to bring value to a balanced offense. Made multiple plays off the bounce and constantly attacked.”
“6’2 2027 Grayson Shepard should see a big uptick in production for Hough this season. Fundamentally sound guard with a strong frame. Does a little bit of everything. Scores within the flow of the offense. Cuts well.”
“6’1 ’28 Miles Clark (Hough) impacts the game through his nonstop energy and ability to fill in the gaps on both ends of the floor. Scrappy defender with a well-rounded skillset. Capable initiator, shooter, and passer. Consistently outworks opponents.”
Hough looks like a team that could quietly make a lot of noise this season. With experienced seniors leading the way, a balanced offensive attack, and multiple players capable of stepping up, the Huskies have the pieces to once again be a tough team to deal with. If they continue to build off what they showed at Team Camp, Hough could be one of the more intriguing teams to watch in the Charlotte area this year.
