The tradition of talent at Chambers High School looks set to continue, as a new wave of prospects is ready to make their mark this season. Despite key contributors from last year’s roster now gone, the Cougars have reloaded with exciting young pieces, headlined by a dynamic duo in the Class of 2027. Both Quentel “QJ” Young and Zyon White have turned heads with their growth and production this offseason, showcasing the length, skill, and upside that could make them breakout stars in the months ahead. As Phenom Hoops continues to track emerging talent across the state, this Chambers tandem is one that fans and coaches alike should keep a very close eye on.

2027 6’3 Quentel “QJ” Young
There are plenty of prospects that you will be seeing this upcoming season that will see their stock rise, and one player I believe could fit that mold is 2027 6’3 QJ Young from Chambers. Chambers continues to bring intriguing talent to the court, even after losing two big-time prospects from last season. Now, our eyes will be on the long and lengthy 6’2 prospect of Young, who has been showing flashes this offseason that he could be in for a breakout season. Young has a natural feel and tons of potential in his game, as he can be a strong scoring threat from all over. With his frame, he understands how to score over defenders, is confident in knocking down his outside shot, and has shown himself to be more assertive in attacking the rim. But again, we believe that there is a lot left in the tank with his game, and we can’t wait for it all to come out this upcoming season. A name to certainly watch.

2027 6’3 Zyon White
White is another long prospect that has been able to flourish this offseason for the Cougars at the Phenom Hoop State Fall League. White looks more confident and poised on the court, as he can change the game with his ability to knock down shots and display strong range. He may be the best shooter on the team this season, and his ability to get to his spots and make opponents pay is big-time. And when you talk about his length as well as potential, White should only continue to add more strength and develop his overall game to make him a well-rounded prospect here in North Carolina. He could be another player who breaks out this upcoming season.
