Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day. It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.
Here is the latest commitment.
Player: Noah Ross
Class: 2022
Committed to: UNC-Wilmington
What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:
“We have known Ross for quite some time now and we have seen his elevated play with his game, impacting more of the game in all areas of the court. It was on full display this weekend during the Live Period, as time after time he made terrific decisions and made his team better with his presence. Whether it was getting on the boards, finding teammates for easy baskets, or laying his body on the line defensively, Ross made winning plays and was a vocal leader. Add that on top of his size and ability to score in an array of ways, he really had a terrific weekend at Forsyth.” – Patrick O’Brien from NCISAA LIVE Period 2021
“Ross brings a lot to the table with his size, shooting stroke, and his ability to rebound. A high IQ prospect that stretches the floor but also finishes strong around the basket and gets on the boards. Does a little bit of everything on the floor.” – Patrick O’Brien from Queen City Showcase
“Noah Ross has quickly made a name for himself with his size and shooting ability. This past season at Trinity Academy of Raleigh, he averaged 16 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 53% from the field and 41% from three. But Ross is not just a shooter. He also has the ability to get to the basket by using his shooting ability to put it on the bounce. He has a solid handle, takes care of the ball, and is able to create off the bounce by getting all the way to the basket or knocking down the midrange jumper. He elevates well, especially on his midrange pull-up. Combine that with his size and length, he is capable of knocking down shots over defenders. When attacking the basket, he finishes above the rim and doesn’t shy away from contact. On the defensive end, Ross does a great job of rebounding and also protecting the rim by rotating for weakside blocks.” – Colby Lewis
“Ross is one to keep an eye on, as he continues to elevate his game and brings a good blend of size and skillset. He showed last year that he could score the ball well, averaging 16.5 points per game at Trinity Academy. Ross continued to step up his game, get stronger, and impact the floor more but he still brings that unique ability to be an outside threat. Colby Lewis wrote about Ross back in October and had this to say: “Ross, known for his shooting ability, has really improved his overall game and is now scoring at different levels. He uses his ability to shoot from the perimeter to attack the basket.”
