Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Myles Tate
Class: 2020
Committed to: Butler

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“We’ve had the pleasure to watch the point guard skip gradual improvement and head straight for rapid development. After winning the state championship, Tate set his sights on destroying everyone in his path, not just those residing in South Carolina. Though he may display a calm demeanor, Tate is a bloodthirsty killer that takes genuine pride in shredding his matchup on both ends of the floor. Offensively, Tate becomes an immediate threat upon crossing half-court, where he is quick enough to torch any opponent off the dribble or with his 30-foot range. He scores at a strong rate from all three levels with great efficiency and polish. His scoring ability is well documented; it’s his high IQ guard skills that continually impress everyone in the gym. Tate reads defenses quickly and sharply, allowing them no time to correct or compromise, and then makes the smart play without fail. With all that being said, it is his play on the defensive end that will get him recruited by every school in the country. Tate has great agility and quick hands; he has never looked overwhelmed by an opponent and consistently wins his matchup. Some coaches may be unimpressed at his average size, however, it should be noted that Tate is A+ at literally every category beyond that.” – Jeff Bendel in 2019

“My fit for a college program is a team that makes me work hard and makes me feel like they really want and care about me, I just want to win.” – Tate in 2018

“He’s a point guard that is able to excel on either side of the ball and has the ability to be among the most talented players in the state of South Carolina. Offensively, Tate will get what he wants, as he’s able to shoot the ball incredibly well and has a legitimate 30-foot range. However, he doesn’t have to shoot, as Tate is smart and can blow by defenders with ease given his blinding quickness, enabling him to finish strong at the rim or make the easy pass. Somehow, his defense matches his offense, making Tate an outright elite prospect. On the defensive side, Tate uses his quickness and nose for the ball so well; he has long arms and they frequently intercept passing lanes for easy steals.” Phenom SC Top 80 in 2017
