2025 6’10 Bryson Cowan (1of1 Academy)
Size always can be a big factor for college programs and a developing big is one that certainly should garner interest. We have watched Cowan over the years, and year by year he continues to add a bit more to his game along with playing with more confidence. As a 6’10 big man, Cowan continues to show flashes of his ability to finish with touch and at the rim, as well as be a factor on the defensive end. Eager to see what he can do more this season and he should have more eyes his way.
2025 6’2 Cam Flippen (Burlington School)
Flippen continues to be a prospect that you simply know what you are going to get on the court and finds ways to impact the game in a variety of ways. A strong and sturdy guard who plays with tremendous energy, Flippen has continued to get better and work on certain areas of development including his shot-making ability. He understands how to impact the game both offensively and defensively, as he doesn’t need to be the offensive focal point to make his impact felt and he gets after it on the defensive end. Flippen can be a key piece to a roster at the next level.
2025 6’6 Malachi Simpson (Hendersonville)
Simpson is one that has gone a bit under the radar but I still believe the 6’6 prospect provides a lot to the table with his blend of size, scoring ability, athleticism, and versatility. He is a long, fluid prospect with size, as he can operate and make plays out in the open floor, create for himself, finish well through contact, and can step out to knock down shots as well. Simpson is a solid rebounder and willing defender with clear upside on that end of the floor
2025 6’2 Arael Jones (Hopewell)
Jones had an eye-opening season last year even though he has certainly made a name for himself before then. Last year though with Northside Christian, it was Jones who simply stepped up and was that go-to guy that made winning plays. Whether it was scoring, creating and finishing strong, knocking down open shots, rebounding well for his size, defending and facilitating, and simply shines with his motor on both sides of the court. We have said it before and will say it again; Jones has proven himself as a true x-factor on the court for his team.
2025 6’3 Kenny Vera (Northwood Temple)
Heading out more east, Vera has been consistent over the last year or so, and has clearly taken on the ability to be a leader on the court. He is coming off a season in which he lead his team in several statistical categories and was an offensive weapon. Vera’s strength allows him to bring tremendous productivity to the court, scoring at a high rate, showing strong body control, and showing that he can impact the game in several ways for his team. Expect another big year from this young man.
