The start of summer ball feels like it has officially started, as players from around the country are starting to garner more attention and see their recruitment take off. A player that will be highly sought after with more offers eventually coming in, 2028 6’7 Isaac Smith will be a hot topic for many.

We have talked about the potential and overall skillset of Smith before, highlighting the tools and potential he possesses as a prospect.  There is a lot to like about his game overall, especially with a strong blend of size, athleticism, and natural feel for the game. He does a great job using his length and mobility to his advantage, especially around the basket where he finishes with confidence and has the ability to play above the rim. His activity level consistently stands out, particularly on the glass, as he attacks the glass and creates valuable second-chance opportunities for his team.

Offensively, Smith shows strong instincts, displaying the ability to make solid reads as both a scorer and facilitator. He plays within the flow, doesn’t force action, and understands how to impact the game in multiple ways. Defensively, his length and movement allow him to cover ground and be disruptive. With his combination of physical tools, motor, and developing skillset, Smith is clearly trending in the right direction and carries significant upside as he continues to grow and refine his game.

Smith had a strong game for Team United this past weekend, finishing with 16 points and four assists, and he walked away with two strong ACC offers from Virginia Tech and Virginia, while Notre Dame has also entered the picture more.  Smith holds some impressive early offers from Arizona State, Mississippi State, and others, but we have a feeling that this is just the start, as you will be hearing from Smith on a more national scale this summer.
