North Carolina is loaded with upcoming talent and coaches could certainly get a chance of an upcoming star in the state in 2019 Marcus Watson.

Watson is a 6’6 small forward that played with West Forsyth this past season and will be competing on CP3 15U this year. He recently showed his talents at the latest Phenom Hoop Event, the Hoop State Challenge, where he continued to blow away on-lookers.

In that event, he scored in double-figures in every game and displayed an array of talent on the court. Whether it was his vision, his athletic ability, his size, or overall potential upside, there wasn’t much to not like about the 2019 kid.

Physically, Watson soars among others in the same age group, as he has a football like built to him that allows him to power by his opponent. But what is so intriguing about him is how diverse he is in his game and how he can be moved around to play several positions. He can score at every level and is a mismatch against smaller opponents but can use his quickness and athletic ability again bigger defenders.

Just check out what Phenom Hoops Analyst Jeffrey Bendel said about Watson:

“Marcus Watson for CP3 was the true heart and soul of this team. He always came through when his number was called on offense, and was a top tier defender at multiple positions. Blessed with great length and size, Watson could play as a big guard, ideal wing, or even as a stretch big in the right circumstances. Range was excellent extending out past the three-point line; showed great intelligence at all times, really a do-it-all type of player.”

Watson has all the physical tools that scream out high major kid and programs will be able to see him in action, as they will be competing at the Spring Hoop Fest this coming weekend.

Watson has always had the frame and the talent, but he is finally putting it together between the ears. A physically strong shooting guard, Watson has deep range to go along with a quick trigger. He is a good athlete and plays with great pace in the half court set. Watson will open eyes this summer, and it will start off with the Spring Hoops Fest LIVE April 16-17 in Greensboro, NC.
