The second day of our Tourney Town Showcase carried onward with a contest between two Triad-based teams in Calvary Day and Shining Light Academy. It didn’t take long for the Cougars to take control of the tempo and assert themselves as the aggressor. Their methodical, balanced attack allowed them to mount a 25-11 lead after the opening quarter. The second period featured more of the same, as Calvary Day continued to wreak havoc and extend their lead to enter halftime with a 43-24 advantage. Following the break, Shining Light began to gradually chip away at the deficit to trail 54-40 after three quarters of play. In the final period, the Knights narrowed it down to a seven-point game before Calvary Day ultimately claimed a 64-53 victory.
