Phenom PG Nationals was one of the best events to start the 2025 season, as teams from all over the country came to compete for a championship. Bridgeport Prep was back in action with us, bringing new names to check out but they impressed us with their overall balance. Here are a few of the players who led the way for this team over the weekend.
2025 6’2 David Johnson
Johnson was one of the key offensive weapons on the court for his team, leading the way averaging around 18 points per game. He showcased his ability to not only be a threat from outside at times but also be active in a variety of ways, whether it was getting to the free throw line, facilitating teammates, or being active on the defensive end. Johnson ended the weekend averaging 18ppg, 4.3apg, and 4.7spg, showing his impact in various areas.
2025 6’2 Andrew Mabry
Mabry was a key piece in opening the floor for his offense, getting to his spots well and showing range in knocking down shots from behind the arc as well as other areas on the floor. He finished the event averaging 13.3ppg and 2.0 made 3-pointers per game. He created well, was able to get to his spots off the dribble, and was comfortable in rising over defenders with his jumper. He displays a good overall frame with his game.
2025 6’1 Travis Upchurch
Upchurch was another strong guard for this team, as the 6’1 prospect was efficient on the offensive end with his ability to score and attack the basket, but also being able to be active in other areas. He shared the ball well, made good decisions, and was active on the defensive end to create multiple steals throughout each game.
2025 6’8 Tristan Burth
Though this was a balanced overall attack with this team, Burth brought tremendous impact to the table for his team with his ability to score in the post and be a force on the glass. Burth displayed a good feel in operating with his back to the basket but also did a great job simply attacking the glass, getting second-chance opportunities, and finishing at the rim. In the end, Burth averaged 10.3ppg and 10rpg for his team.
