Player: Nick Cannon
Class: 2029
AAU: Garner Road-Butler
The Phenom Underrated Showcase brought some young but talented players to the court for Phenom Hoops to learn about, and one of the biggest breakout players from the event was 2029 6’2 Nick Cannon from Garner Road-Butler. Cannon presented a lot of upside and versatility in his game, especially with his blend of size and skillset at a young age.
He was comfortable in an array of areas on the court, whether it was leading the offense, playing off the ball, attacking the defense and use his length/size to his advantage to score, and his ability to play multiple positions on the court. Cannon has a smooth feel for the game, and looks to find success from a variety of spots on the court. Again, he excelled the most when attacking and finding ways to use his advantage, but he is one that you can see that he has a chance to continue to develop, add more to his game, and be a true matchup problem in the coming years. He proved that all throughout the event.
