6’3 2021 Kymani Knox (Upward Stars)- Knox is an absolute load in the middle to deal with, he just a tough kid. When Knox builds up steam he comes through the lane like a wrecking ball. Knox is built for contact and he knows it, he converted several tough finishes, the defense had no choice but to foul. Knox defended the paint admirably and ate the glass up, he’s a true competitor and will do all the little things to win. Knox has that dog you seek, he will body up on bigger defenders, and he can get by them in the open floor.
6’5 2022 Damien Robinson (Fayetteville Flash) Is in the similar mold of Knox. Robinson plays with that junkyard dog mentality relentless on the glass. His physicality & quick reflexes allow him to typically be the first to react on a miss, he’s got strong hands & understands the importance of establishing position. Robinson can also make the elbow jumper, defensively he’ll guard bigs and he can stay with the ball handler on switches.
6’5 2023 Xander Booker (Garner Road) Booker is a pivotal glue guy, he’s the type of player every team needs to flourish. Booker does so much to impact the game, he can get his own shot when needed, Booker scored 15 pts but he’s low maintenance offensively… Booker can do a lot on minimum shots and he’s constantly in motion. The versatility on defense really stood out, Booker can matchup down low, his length, lateral quickness, and resiliency can give bigs problems. Booker is also an extremely active rebounder, he gets a lot of tips. Booker can also guard the perimeter and strip opposing ball handlers.
6’5 2021 Charlie Hester (Charlotte Royals)- Hester has filled it up all weekend, Hester has been shooting the rock at a high clip. Hester is making the most of catch and shoot opportunities, as well as beating defenders off the bounce. Hester can play above the rim as well, he’s showed some explosives on several finishes. Hester has great size on the wing and he’s comfortable handling the ball under pressure, Hester is also a committed defender, he will hustle on that end.
6’0 2022 Landon King ( Charlotte Guard) -King has the silky smooth pull up game in his bag, he had defenders on skates with his changeup pace and quick release. In space King is a tough cover, he’s got a tight handle and plays with great pace. King has a polished mid-range game, he can also spot up and knock it down from deep. King had to hold the scoring load but he also flashed the court vision. I feel like King came in with something to prove, he wanted the ball late to close out games. King also guards the ball well, he’s got active hands and quick feet on that end.
