It was a big day in the recruiting world, as the Duke Blue Devils received huge news that they would be landing two of the top prospects in the Class of 2025. 2025 Cameron Boozer and 2025 Cayden Boozer announced on Friday that they would be following their dad’s footsteps and will be suiting up for Duke. We break down each of their games and what it means to the Blue Devils.
2025 6’9 Cameron Boozer
Cameron Boozer has been regarded as one of the, if not the top prospects in the country and when you watch his game, it is easy to see. The 6’9 prospect brings a ton of intrigue and skill set to the table, as he has an incredibly polished game at his size and position. He is fluid, versatile, is capable of creating for himself, has a great feel in the post and around the basket, but also can be effective from a variety of levels; he has shown that he can be effective from multiple levels on the court. What amazes everyone with his game is how dominant he can be in the paint and on the boards, but how fluid he can operate in running the floor, stepping out offensively, and he has a high IQ for the game. Boozer is extremely polished at his size, and it is clear that he is going to be a big target for NBA organizations in the coming years.
2025 6’3 Cayden Boozer
Cayden Boozer has clearly made himself a name, as he is also regarded as a Top 20 prospect in the country with his brother. Even though they are twin brothers, these two have very different games in how they operate and be effective. When you talk about Cayden’s game, he has an extremely fluid and smooth feel for the game, as it is easy to see that he makes high IQ reads, sees the floor well, and knows how to be that strong playmaker for himself and others. Boozer is efficient in how he attacks and plays. Boozer is a clear leader, has a strong frame, makes plays well off the dribble in getting downhill, and finishes well at the rim but also shows he can knock down shots off the dribble or catch-and-shoot situations. But he also makes really good reads in setting up his teammates.
What This Means for Duke
There were always talks about the Boozer twins following in his father’s footsteps, but it is now official that two of the top prospects in the country will be heading to Durham. What does this mean for Duke' It is huge news when it comes to recruiting, as the Blue Devils will be looking to have one of the top classes in the country. But what this also means is that Duke will have two instant prospects who could come in and produce at a high level, especially if several players graduate or go to the NBA (and of course potential transfers). But one thing is for sure is that Duke will have a huge future presence next season inside and out, two players who understand the nature of the game, and two prospects that the staff could insert right away and find big-time production.
